My mother in-law was standing by the stove, hissing like a snake

Hello everyone, and welcome to another dark Thursday night, here on Looks Like Coffee, Tastes Like Juice. Tonight's post will be a rather short one, as I'm currently in the middle of a very good book, and I'd like to continue reading. So,without further ado, I present to you, the Band of the Week.

Band of the Week; The Fiery Furnaces

The Fiery Furnaces is a sibling driven indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York. They formed in 2000, and were signed to Rough Trade records in 2002. The band is made up of siblings Matthew and Eleanor Friedberger. Their debut album, Gallowsbird's Bark, was released in 2003, which received as many positive reviews as it did comparisons to The White Stripes (It is interesting to note that Meg and Jack White are not actually related, but were once married).

So, enjoy two tracks from their fifth LP, entitled Bitter Tea, which was released in 2006.
